I took the photos below while photographing only ordinary drops of pure, clean water falling in front of a black featureless background. On this day one of several repeating patterns I got was one consisting of three rounds shapes: two at the bottom of each orb, and one at the top. The motif appeared about a thousand times in roughly 200 photos. Below are 50+ examples in 15+ photos.
At the 16:22 mark in the video below, you can see my camera viewfinder as I photographed the pattern above. What is interesting is that we first see a simpler version of the pattern, and then before our eyes we see the pattern becoming more complex, becoming the pattern we see above.
