The Mysterious Bright Orb and the Strange Crowd Blob

The photo below was taken in Grand Central Terminal in New York.  We see in the top right a big bright orb that seems to be moving.

Below is a closeup from the bottom left part of this photo (right click to see it at higher resolution). We see a crowd that seems unusually dark, like some strange brown blob. You might try to explain this by saying it's just a blurry part of the photo, but above this crowd we can read quite clearly the words "passage subway." so it doesn't seem to be an ordinary photo blur here.
