The composite photo below shows two different images of the Chrysler Building in New York. In both photos we see a swarm of orbs around the building.
I have two strong indications that these orbs were not caused by tiny particles floating near the camera. The first indication can be seen in the photo above. We see that even though the brown building occupies much of the photo area, we see almost no orbs in front of it. If these orbs were caused by particles near the camera, they would have been randomly scattered across the photo area.
The second indication is that I did a "cardboard test" during the same minute the right photo was taken (9:06 PM), photographing a cardboard-colored piece of paper at arm's length. That photo (shown below) showed no orbs.
There was no fog, mist, rain, or precipitation on this night. The air quality as listed on airnow.gov was "good," with a rating of 29 (anything below 50 is considered good).
