Floating Tribute?

The photo below shows some orbs floating near a memorial to soldiers who died in the Civil War. None of these objects was the moon, which was a thin crescent on this night.  At the time the photo was taken, there was no fog, mist, rain or precipitation.

Two days earlier (when the moon was also in a thin crescent phase) I took this photo showing a yellow orb near this column.  There was no fog, mist, rain or precipitation on this day.
