A Luminous "Face" Amidst the Orb Crescents

Photo date: June 5, 2015. Photographer: Mark Mahin.

The photo below was taken while photographing pure, clean water drops falling against a dark background. We see inexplicable crescent shapes I call orb crescents. We also see three objects that I call orb veils, although they are barely visible (see my posts labeled "orb veil" for 25 examples that are much more clearly visible). Inside the top hill-shaped orb veil, we see three lines that seem to make a smiling face.  See my posts labeled "orb crescent" for 18 other photos of orb crescents.

Below (from April 16, 2015) is a more clear example of orb veils. These objects had an apparent width of about 3 inches, even though I was only photographing a narrow stream of water drops about an inch wide.
