Orb Veils in a Variety of Shapes

The photo below was taken while photographing ordinary water drops falling against a dark background. In this photo we see the strange, wispy things I call orb veils. The photo shows a variety of these orb veils.

Some are shaped like shields, as the closeup below shows.

Others are shaped like little tornadoes, as the closeup below shows.

Others are shaped like half-pickles, as the closeup below shows.

 Here is another closeup showing these "half-pickles":



Others are shaped like strange little triangles with an arc-shaped bottom, as shown below.


These orb veils sometimes appear in "stacks" with as many as 8 having the same shape. The photo above is a "short stack" consisting of only two of these veils. See my posts labeled "orb veils" for dozens of similar photos.
