The photo below shows a memorial column erected to honor soldiers who died in the Civil War. To the left of the column we see a misty column-like structure. It seems to be the strange thing ghost-hunters call ecto-mist, which is also shown in this series of posts.
I took this photo with the camera at arm's length, and the mist seems to be floating in the middle of the photo (you don't see it on the edges of the photo). Given such facts, a "photographer's breath" explanation is all-but ruled out. There was no precipitation or visible mist when I was photographing, nor was there any visible sign or smell of smoke.
On the same night, I photographed lots of mysterious orbs floating around this column.
