I have shown an incredibly strange photographic anomaly in which light
seems to rise up like drifting smoke: the effect I call the light
metamorphosis. Below we see another example of this phenomenon. We see the top of the new One World Trade Center, which is also called the Freedom Tower. The light from the top of the tower has risen up in a strange twisty manner, like rising smoke. Don't worry -- there wasn't any fire.
The photo below shows another example of this strange weirdness.
The exposure time was only 1/30 of a second on both of these flash photos. The photos were taken (using
normal settings, not "night picture" settings) by an old Olympus point-and-click camera that normally
produces no such effect. The camera was not moving when these photos were taken.
