I have shown an incredibly strange photographic anomaly in which light
seems to rise up like drifting smoke: the effect I call the light
metamorphosis. Below we see another example of this phenomenon. The first photo shows an unusual walkway in downtown New York, not far from the new One World Trade Center.
After taking this photo with my old Olympus camera, I then got another photo using the same camera, one that showed the strange transformation. The camera was not moving, as you can see from the fact that the details on the bottom right look sharp and not streaked.
The photos were flash photos with an exposure time of 1/30 of a second, using normal camera settings (no "Night picture" setting).
