The photo below is a composite of two images taken a few seconds apart in midtown Manhattan. On the left we see what seems to be an example of what is called ecto-mist: a strange mist-like thing that often seems to resemble animals or meaningful shapes. The photo was taken with the camera at arm's length, so I don't think it could have been my breath. Also, there seems to be no trail of mist leading from the bottom of the photo, another indication that it was not my breath. What is odd is that we can almost seem to see this "mist" forming an eye and a smile.
There was no smoke or weather-related mist visible when the photo was taken.
