The photo below shows a church on Madison Avenue in New York City. We see the moon on the left -- but what is that moon-like thing floating on the right? Call it a moon mimic.
On the same night I photographed two other bright "moon mimics" floating in the sky.
There was no rain, fog, mist or precipitation on this night. The air quality listed on airnow.gov was "good," with a rating of 45.
