Were the Rays Sucked Up By the Sky?

Photo date:March 7, 2016. Photographer: Mark Mahin.

The photo below shows another example of the strange effect I call the light metamorphosis. When this effect occurs, light rays seem to be amplified enormously, and often rise way up, sometimes bending in strange ways. In this example, it is as if the sky has sucked up the light rays from Fifth Avenue in New York.
