There Were No Fatalities From This Collision

Photo date: April 6, 2015. Photographer: Mark Mahin.

The unaltered photo below looks like some scene from a disaster movie. We see the Empire State Building in New York, and it looks like a comet is colliding with the top of the building.

How many people died from this collision? None, because the thing that looks like a comet was merely a speeding air orb. If you look at my posts labeled "speeding air orb" (or look at this poster of 37 speeding air orbs), you can see many other examples of this strange phenomenon.

Below is a closeup of this "collision":

In the top photo, we can also dimly see a giant purple orb.  This one looks very faint, but in this post you can see a giant purple air orb that is very bright.

There was no precipitation, fog, or mist on this night, and the air quality listed on airnow.gov was "moderate" with a number of 55, close to the number of 49 that would qualify as "good."
