The photo below (taken on a dry windy night with very clean air) shows a building in New York City. To the left we see a large purple orb, and to the right we see two smaller orbs. The larger orb was 56% of the original photo height.
The previous photo taken that night, from the same angle, showed no such anomaly.
There was no rain, fog, mist or precipitation on this night. The air quality listed on airnow.gov was "good," with a rating of 23 (anything below 50 is considered good). There were brisk 18 mile an hour winds.
