Orb Crescents in Perplexing Patterns Showing Radial Symmetry

The photos below were taken while photographing ordinary drops of pure, clean water falling against a dark featureless background. Each of these photos will show the strange things I call orb crescents.  Very strangely, each photo will show these strange objects arranged in a pattern known as radial symmetry. Radial symmetry is the type of symmetry shown in a starfish or in the sections of an orange when you look at an orange that is cut in half.

Here is the first photo. Notice how the inner part of all the orb crescents is pointed away from the center of the photo.
