Flying Saucer or Broken Streetlight?

Photo date: April 26, 2015.  Photographer: Mark Mahin.

The photo below shows the Empire State Building in New York.

The object at the top is interesting, because it looks rather like a flying saucer. But given its location on the corner, perhaps it was just a streetlight.

The photo was taken at 8:08 PM,  and sunset on this day was at 7:47 PM.  (It doesn't look so dark because the photo was taken with a full-spectrum camera which sometimes affects colors.)  If the item at the top was a streetlight, it should have been on at this time, and should have been producing a glow which showed up in this photo. There is no such glow. But perhaps it was a broken streetlight.

I went back to this location later, and the only streetlight I could find near this spot was one that seemed to look very different from the saucer-like item shown at the top right of this photo.

On this night, a UFO was reported in New York City.  But the evidence here is inconclusive, so I will not label this as a "flying saucer."
