We see below a rather bleak-looking urban scene that was livened up by a big yellow orb that is not the moon. The original photo has been reduced in width, but not in height. There was no fog, mist, rain, or other precipitation on this night.
How do I know this was not the moon? Besides my memory that the moon was not visible when I took this, I used this calculator to confirm that the moon was not visible where I live (New York City) at the hour this photo was taken (about 9 PM).
