The photo below was taken while photographing nothing but ordinary drops of pure, clean water falling against a dark featureless background. We see a very bright spiky object in the middle. You might try to explain this bright thing by saying that it is just some splash of water that is reflecting the camera flash. But how can we explain the four other objects above it, each of which has a flat tops? Splashing water doesn't form nice straight lines.
